Sonesta Select Milwaukee Brookfield

The TV, fridge and phone didn't work. Reported these issues but none were resolved. Breakfast was a joke. Inernet worked. Bed was amazing.

Mixed review & because of Teri and the night auditor, near the end turned out to be extremely helpful about unrelated issues below. THANK YOU. The 2 young men got a star over time. See last paragraph re: room change. Shortened this a bit but didn't fix punctuation, etc(: TV frustrating to figure out, no guide on clicker. Had to go through every channel several times to guess what program it seemed to be . No info. With commercials, it took several hours, found 1 channel, that still wasn't any channels I was searching for, but gave up....Later a staff member told me that when clicking on 66, it becomes changes the number to 30, have to wait a moment for the show to appear. that tv in the suite area I didn't watch, too much trouble, no guide, etc. (w/ the same other issues above.) The phone didn't work no matter spent numerous hours, was told (the same directions as were on the phone.) canceled important calls. ( I'm without a cell.) I requested to look at the phone. No one came because when I turned the phone over, the ringer was on low, so missed my calls for 2 days, I inquired with the off property manager, (during my stay), and she told me they came, and also told me they didn't saying because I wasn't there. They never came to the room. Here 3-4 days (3 nights). Then I inquired again, and was told I could dial an 8 or 9 1st. 9 never worked, (9 was stated on the phone.) If they had really checked out the phone, they would have seen that it couldn't work, by pressing 9; it only works pressing 8 per the young man at the desk. The lovely Teri, told me she was getting ready to offer a different room, but said I had to cut it short due to ride arriving. The older of the male desk staff eventually told me that he wouldn't change my room because all the phones and tvs were the same. Manager, well, I'll spare you, and leave on a possitive note. Overall, this is nothing, due to the world at large. Grateful for a bed & a roof. But have been trained to be demanding, compared to most of the world....

Making the reservation, I stated I needed a room near the front of the hotel (due to mobility issues) and the pull out bed made up. Arrived at the hotel and no one was at the front desk. Receptionist finally comes out of the office, hands me the keys, not explaining where our room was located. He stated, just pull around to the side, the room is located by the first side door. Walked the length of the corridor, no room number. Back to the front desk, and he says to go to the rear of the hotel. (As far away from the front desk as possible). Found the room—-nicely updated furniture, comfortable bed enough towels. When the room was upgraded, carpet underlay must have been ignored. The floor was freezing, as were the drafty windows. Bathroom was not updated. If the Sonesta spent money upgrading the rooms, why not the bathrooms? And I know this is picky, but the door knobs were all peeling and old. We opened the pull out bed……not made up and no linens in the room. The mattress cover had an enormous rust colored stain. Phoned front desk to complain about bed not being made up. Guess he didn’t care I requested linens to sleep on top of the couch and was told to go to front desk and pick them up. I said absolutely not. Linens were promptly delivered. The pool was OK. Condensation from windows made puddles so it was slippery walking. Pool towels were damp. AND the hotel charged a $75 room security deposit on top of the room rate. My suggestion, change management.

If you stay more than one day, you'll need to request Cleaning services. I've requested 3 times, nobody has showed. I'm here for work, and they have had constant construction right outside my room in the patio area(work online). The Tv's are dated and barely work because the remotes are not good. THE INTERNET SHUTS OFF EVERY 15 MINUTES AND IS SLOWER THAN DIAL UP. I was here for multiple days and ended up using my hotspot the entire time for work. The bathrooms are disgustingly dated, and filled with poor caulking jobs. Everything is dated except for the lobby. Breakfast is a joke, thankfully free but I wouldn't touch it. The owners or managers, not sure which, have their kids running around the hotel freely. I paid for an upgraded room, in which few people are in the hotel. Almost every night I've had someone next to, or above me. At any other normal hotel this wouldn't be an issue, but these walls are paper thin. A few nights, including Sunday evening leading to Monday morning, multiple men were up until 2am talking loudly in the patio area in middle of hotel. I rarely write reviews, but this place needs a reality check for their pricing. The ONLY positive to this hotel are the two nice, and kind ladies at the front desk. The lobby doesn't have AC and it's been 80+ all week

We chose this hotel because it was close to Milwaukee and not nearly as expensive as hotels in the city. So, So glad we did. There are plenty of restaurants and stores right there and it is a super short drive to Milwaukee. The room was very clean and the mattress was the most comfortable one we have ever had in a hotel. The room also had a mini frig and microwave. We would definitely stay here again and will look for this hotel chain when going out of town
